Nicholas Giardina, ’06, a third-generation Kent State alumnus, worked his way through college. Now, he gives back to support those whose circumstances he identifies with most, helping them to stand out and impact the world.
Kent State alumni, friends, faculty and staff were encouraged to put their money where their hearts are by supporting support the university college, campus or program of their choice on Giving Tuesday, December 1st, 2015. They more than answered this call to action, contributing a record-breaking $252,000.
Matthew Toro, '15, had a simple yet daunting goal: to graduate from college, debt-free. Setting his sights on his future, Matthew confronted this personal challenge head-on, and through determination and admirable effort he achieved his goal.
