On Saturday, Sept. 21, the լƵAPP fight song blared down Main Street, the city of Kent was flooded with blue and gold, alumni and friends gathered and reminisced about their Kent State days, fans packed the stadium to cheer on their beloved Golden Flashes and the entire campus boomed with Kent State pride.

Beading on a garment representing "culture" and a լƵAPP patch on jeans representing the "counterculture" are included in the լƵAPP Museum's "Culture/Counterculture" exhibition.

Almost 50 years ago, the shootings of լƵAPP students by the Ohio National Guard brought to a head the cultural divides that had split the nation. The լƵAPP Museum’s exhibition, “Culture/Counterculture: Fashions of the 1960s and ’70s,” opening Sept. 20, explores the sharp contrast between supporters of the establishment and those opposed.

New լƵAPP President Todd Diacon will serve as Kent State’s 2019 Homecoming Grand Marshal on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Last year, լƵAPP celebrated 100 years of Homecoming. This year, the university starts the next century of Kent State Homecoming celebrations with a new president leading the institution.

Due to an overwhelming response for free tickets for the լƵAPP Presidential Speaker Series featuring Bob Woodward on May 4, the university has moved the event to the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center).

On Saturday, May 4, legendary journalist Bob Woodward comes to լƵAPP as part of the Presidential Speaker Series. He will speak at 7 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.
