Winter Coat and Clothing Drive

2024 Winter Clothing and Coat Drive

From November 1 through December 13, Õ¬ÄÐÊÓƵAPP will be collecting new, clean, or gently used items for all ages including winter clothing, and coats, hats, gloves and scarves. Look for large boxes with Winter Coat and Clothing Drive signs at the buildings listed below. Winter coat and clothing donations will go to the Winter Warm Up Stations at the Women's Center in the Williamson House, the CARES Center in the Student Center room 106; the Flashes Fighting Hunger Winter Warm Up Station in Tri-Towers; the Kent State Wilderness Wardrobe at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center; and the Phyllis Zumkehr Portage County Clothing Center, which provides items to homeless individuals, families, elderly, and veterans in need free of charge. Stop by the Winter Warm-Up Stations and take what you need.

  • Center for Undergraduate Excellence first floor room 151
  • DI Hub second floor lobby
  • Library frist floor lobby
  • Memorial Athletic Convocation Center (M.A.C.C.) main lobby
  • Schwartz 2nd floor room 261, Career Exploration and Development
  • Student Recreation and Wellness Center lobby outside of the Well Hub
  • Williamson House first floor front desk lobby

Winter Warm-Up Stations (Take what you need to stay warm!) are located:

  • Williamson House 
  • Student Center 1st floor outside room 106
  • Tri-Towers Flashes Fighting Hunger Food Pantry (during pantry hours)

The Winter Coat and Clothing Drive is coordinated by Kent State Adventure Center, CARES Center, Career Exploration & Development, Community Engaged Learning, Department of Athletics, Design Innovation, Kent State of Well-being, Office of Sustainability, and the Women's Center.

During the 2023 Winter Coat and Clothing Drive, Kent State collected over 500 pounds of clothing that went to the Portage County Clothing Center and over 300 items went to Winter Warm Up Stations on campus. In 2022 we collected over 300 pounds of clothing that went to the Portage County Clothing Center and over 200 items went to Winter Warm Up Stations on campus. In 2021 we collected over 1,000 pounds that went to the Portage County Clothing Center and over 200 items at the Winter Warm Up Stations.
