Kent State's Newest Officer: Dexter, the Explosive-Detection Dog

 

 

Dexter, լƵAPP's newest officer and explosive-detection canine, was introduced to the university community on Nov. 19. A male Belgian Malinois, Dexter is ready to patrol Kent State and neighboring communities alongside his handler Officer Miguel H. Witt.

The լƵAPP Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting on Oct. 2 on the Kent Campus. This special meeting is being called solely for the purpose of enabling trustees to retire into executive session to consider specific topics as provided under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law.”

լƵAPP is set to burst with Golden Flash pride as the annual Homecoming celebration returns Sept. 28. 

U.S. News & World Report has once again confirmed լƵAPP’s academic strengths with the university’s inclusion on several lists in the 2025 Best Colleges rankings. In the newly released rankings, Kent State continues to be recognized among the Top Public Schools in the nation.
